Job Description

As one of the nation’s leading pediatric health care systems, Nemours is committed to providing all children with their best chance to grow up healthy. We offer integrated, family-centered care to more than 300,000 children each year in our pediatric hospitals, specialty clinics and primary care practices in Delaware, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Nemours strives to ensure a healthier tomorrow for all children – even those who may never enter our doors – through our world-changing research, education and advocacy efforts. At Nemours, our Associates help us deliver on the promise we make to every family we have the privilege of serving: to treat their child as if they were our own.

Equity, diversity, and inclusion guide our growth and strategy.  We are looking for individuals who are passionate about, and committed to leading efforts to provide culturally relevant care, reducing health disparities, and helping build a diverse and inclusive team environment. All Nemours associates are expected to ensure that these philosophies are embedded in their day to day work with colleagues, patients and families.

The Center for Healthcare Delivery Science (CHDS) at Nemours Children’s Health System invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship at A.I. du Pont Hospital for Children (AIDHC) in Wilmington, Delaware to begin in Spring or Summer 2021.

Health care delivery science is the application of scientific methods and principles to the analysis of variables and processes that affect the delivery, safety, outcomes, cost, quality and value of pediatric health care. CHDS is led by Drs. Anne Kazak, Melissa Alderfer and Susana Patton. Center faculty include Drs. Kimberly Canter, J.J. Cutuli, Paul Enlow, Aimee Hildenbrand, Ly Phan, Jessica Pierce, Julia Price, Erica Sood, and Rachel Wasserman.

We are seeking individuals interested in clinical research who aspire to academic research careers. Fellows may have a variety of backgrounds (e.g., psychology, medicine, nursing, public health). The fellow will assist CHDS research faculty in clinical research projects across several pediatric conditions with a focus on intervention development and evaluation, community engagement, implementation science, eHealth and health equity. For a Fellow seeking psychology licensure, 20% time will be devoted to clinical work in the Division of Behavioral Health at duPont Hospital. These applicants should have completed a PhD and predoctoral internship from programs accredited by the American Psychological Association.

Fellows in the Center have the opportunity to:

  • Conduct all aspects of clinical research including project planning, recruitment and data collection, manualized treatment development and delivery, data management and analyses, and manuscript preparation.

  • Write and submit grant applications with mentorship, including the opportunity to apply for internal fellowship project funding.

  • Receive supervised clinical training and accrue hours needed for psychology licensure.

  • Attend various educational sessions including Continuing Education Presentations, Biomedical Research Presentations, Grand Rounds, and Center-based Research Meetings

  • Become part of a strong cohort of pediatric psychology fellows across the Nemours Children’s Health System.

Nemours offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Required application materials are: 1) CV; and, 2) a cover letter summarizing the candidate’s research interests and career goals. Please send these items to dana.berger@nemours.org. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until we fill the positions. Nemours is an Equal Employment Opportunity organization and does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity or gender.

Our dedication to professionals who are dedicated to children frequently earns Nemours a spot on the list of top workplaces in the communities we serve. Our Associates enjoy comprehensive benefits, including our unique “Bridge to a Healthy Future” pediatric health plan, an integrated wellness program, opportunities for professional growth, and much more. As an equal opportunity employer, Nemours focuses on the best-qualified applicants for our openings.
