A rural atmosphere and a lower cost of living mixed with the easy accessibility of the Washington / Baltimore areas make Jefferson County, West Virginia an ideal place in which to live. While Jefferson County is the fastest growing County in West Viriginia, it boasts one of the lowest crime rates in the country. In recent years, a steady influx of urban "refugees"—mostly professionals and executives from nearby Washington DC and Baltimore, has contributed to the growth of telecommuting and high-tech industries. From mountain trails to river rapids, Jefferson County will fill your senses with nature's energy.
